It is that exciting time of the year again when every young baseball player waits to hear if their name will be called at the MLB Draft.
For Baseball U one of the top travel organizations in the country it is always an exciting time of year as well. In the organizations first 6 MLB Drafts Baseball U has been fortunate to have 44 Alumni team players drafted that have worn the U.
In no way shape or form does Baseball U take credit for their success. While we had them as players it was their hard work and their family’s dedication to their son which started at an early age that made this achievement possible.
3 of the 44 alumni players selected have been 1st round selections in the draft.
In 2013 a few players names you should hear will again be a first rounder in Colin Moran the ACC Player of the Year from UNC. Colin was a member of the 3rd place team at the USA Labor Day Cup as a junior in high school.
Local product from Toms River North, Brian Gilbert who has topped out at 97MPH this year at Seton Hall should also hear his named called fairly early in the draft.
College players are not the only ones that could hear their name called as Baseball U has several seniors in high school that could all hear their name called as well depending on their signability.
It is a great time of year where players listed to every pick. MLB now televises the first night of the draft and the live draft can be followed on MLB via a live broadcast on the internet for days 2 and 3.
Good luck to all the draft hopefuls and if your name is not called it is not the end of the road.
